Shelly Sabel, lighting designer, in July 2006 had the privilege of continuing her collaboration with Elizabeth Streb, a legendary choreographer who reinvents what we know of as modern dance. She designed the lighting for the world premiere of "STREB VS GRAVITY" as part of The Lincoln Center Festival and shared with us some video footage from that truly original performance. Her dancers slam into Plexiglas walls... dive out of the paths of swinging bricks, and play on apparatus including a giant human hamster wheel. The work is breathtaking... You can really get a taste of the spirit of the show from this two minute video piece:
